Setonomy Premium

Premium adds plans over weeks, detailed progress, individual muscles and more. There's a monthly and a yearly subscription, the yearly one with a two-week free trial; when it ends, your data stays.

Where to find it

  1. Settings
  2. Premium
  3. See Premium

Or tap any gold “★ Premium” in the app to open the purchase page.

A tapped muscle in the app: the biceps brachii highlighted in blue on the 3D model, with a note that one finger turns the model and two fingers zoom, then its description, its sets this week and last week and the exercises that contributed
With Premium: every muscle on its own, on the 3D model.

What Premium adds

  • Plans over weeks – Start a plan from the questionnaire and train week by week.
  • Progress in detail – Trends per exercise, volume and 1RM history.
  • Individual muscles – The muscle map muscle by muscle, with a breakdown per group.
  • Compare workouts – Two workouts side by side, exercise by exercise.
  • Heart rate insights – Fitness at the same load, time in heart rate zones and cardiovascular load, from your heart rate during training.
  • Custom rest per exercise – Longer rests for heavy exercises, shorter ones for light ones.
  • Calculate warm-up sets – From your working weight: as a suggestion in the editor and as a hint before the first set.
  • Pin records – Up to five records of your choice on the dashboard.

What it costs

At launch on the App Store, Premium costs $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US. The app always shows the price the App Store currently lists.

The yearly subscription starts with a two-week free trial if the App Store offers it to you; the monthly one has no trial. Family Sharing isn't available for Premium.

Manage, cancel, restore

“Manage Subscription” under Settings → Premium opens your Apple Account's subscriptions, where you can cancel at any time. The subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

“Restore Purchases” is on the purchase page and under Settings → Premium, for example for a new iPhone with the same Apple Account. You don't need a Setonomy account, and Premium works offline.

To redeem an offer code, tap “Redeem Code” on the purchase page or under Settings → Premium; you don't need Premium for that. If the code gives you a free period, Setonomy shows “Free until …” with its end date and, below it, what happens next: Premium either ends on its own with no further charges, or the paid subscription starts unless you cancel before then. Under Settings → Premium you'll also find the “Terms of Use.”

When your subscription ends

Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. A running plan rests with “Continues with Premium.” and you can keep training its workouts. Pinned records stay saved but no longer appear on the Dashboard, and custom rest stops applying from your next workout. Warm-up sets you entered stay; only “Suggest from working weight” and the calculated hint before the first set go away. With a new subscription, everything is back.

What works without Premium

Training with suggestions, the rest timer and the Live Activity, your own workouts and exercises, your whole history, body weight, Apple Health with the heart rate chart, backup, the muscle map by group, records with your own 1RM, and a plan's questions, with a preview that shows the first exercise of each workout. You can customize the Dashboard and Progress without Premium, too.
