Body weight
Log your weight or bring it in from Apple Health. Setonomy shows your weigh-ins as dots, a smoothed trend and the change in 30 days; each day, the earliest weigh-in counts.
Where to find it
- History
- Body weight
Or on the Dashboard, on the “Body weight” card with “Log”; its arrow opens History.

Logging your weight
“Log weight” opens the date, time and weight, filled in with now and your current value; dates in the future aren't allowed. Tap an entry to open “Edit entry,” or swipe for “Delete entry.” Your own entries are then gone right away.
Which weigh-in counts
Each day, the earliest weigh-in counts: for the chart, trend, monthly average, the change in 30 days and the Dashboard. Other weigh-ins from the same day are shown in gray in the list.
Trend and chart
The dots are your weigh-ins and the line is the trend: a smoothed value that follows each new weigh-in more closely the longer ago the previous one was, with a 10-day time constant. It's calculated from all entries, whatever period is shown. If your last weigh-in is more than a week old, Setonomy shows no trend number and no change “in 30 days.” Days count on the calendar: a weigh-in from Saturday counts through the following Saturday.
At the top you see “Current,” the date with the trend, and the change “in 30 days.” Below, choose “30 days,” “1 year” or “All time,” and under the chart come the months with their average and change from the month before. To estimate how many calories you need to maintain, lose or gain weight, use the calorie calculator; Setonomy itself doesn't count calories. To work out your BMI, use the BMI calculator.
Pounds or kilograms
Under Settings → Training → “Weight unit,” “Automatic” uses pounds in the US and kilograms elsewhere; or choose “Pounds (lb)” or “Kilograms (kg).” You enter weights in the unit shown.
With Apple Health
With “To Apple Health” → “Body weight,” every entry goes to Health; delete it in Setonomy and it's removed there too. With “From Apple Health” → “Body weight,” Setonomy brings in all weigh-ins with their time and source, for example from a smart scale.
Weigh-ins from Health can only be viewed and deleted. If you delete one, it stays in Apple Health and Setonomy won't bring it in again on this iPhone; to remove it completely, delete it in the Health app. They aren't in your backup, because Setonomy fetches them from Health again (Apple Health).
Premium
Free. Body weight with the chart, trend, months and Apple Health is free.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a weigh-in gray?
It isn't the earliest of its day. Each day, the earliest one counts.
Why don't I see a trend number?
Your last weigh-in is more than a week old, counting calendar days. Log a new one.
I hid the card on the Dashboard. Where do I log my weight?
Under History → Body weight, with “Log weight.”
Can I change a weigh-in from Apple Health?
No, you can change it in the Health app.
Does deleting in Setonomy also delete in Apple Health?
Only for what Setonomy wrote to Health itself.
