What’s new in Setonomy

Every Setonomy version with what it brought, newest first. Features that need Premium say so in parentheses.

1.2: coming December 1, 2026

Available now on TestFlight: try version 1.2 early

New

  • Cards to share after a workout, for Stories and feed posts. Any past workout can be shared the same way from History, with the records as of that day.
  • Share and add workouts by QR code or link (Premium). Weights aren’t included. Without the app, the link opens setonomy.com.
  • A plan from four questions: goal, experience, week, and equipment and location. Everything else is under “Customize” in the preview. The questionnaire and preview are free; starting the plan requires Premium.
  • Bench press in 3D, step by step: the instructions walk through the movement and end in a 3D model you can rotate, on the new standard body. This applies to bench press only.
  • The muscle map on the new body, each muscle in 3D (Premium).
  • Top-up: a workout that fits your week, up to 180 minutes. With “All muscles,” even small muscles like the forearms get their turn (Premium).
  • Short tips the first time you use a feature, which can be turned off in the introduction.
  • “This week” and “Up next” widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
  • Introductory offer from December 1, 2026: for new subscribers, the monthly plan costs $1.99 a month (Germany: €1.99) for the first two months. The offer runs until January 31, 2027.

Changed

  • Workouts from a plan now require Premium to start, edit and copy. Your own workouts stay free.

Improved

  • A shorter introduction with three pages.
  • Dashboard: the “This week” card at the top, and a new “Train without a plan” card with Freestyle.
  • The “Records” card is now in Progress instead of the Dashboard, together with volume.
  • Workout tab: plan and workouts in one card. The plan view has a weekly grid.
  • History by month, with a calendar.
  • During a workout, “Suggestion” and “Last time” share one line. With large text, the set card is more compact, and RPE works without scrolling.
  • All 522 exercise clips rendered anew from the 3D model.
  • A new look in white with soft shadows, and main buttons made of glass.

1.1.1: released October 30, 2026

  • Alternating A/B plans (Premium): if a week is missed, the plan moves on to the next pattern. The plan view shows “This week · Week N of M” with check marks.
  • Exercise search responds instantly, even for short entries.
  • Body weight: the trend and “in 30 days” stay until your last weigh-in is more than a week old.
  • Smoother workouts: buttons respond right after you finish a set.
  • The summary after a workout can no longer be swiped away by accident.
  • Muscle map (Premium): ten row variations now also work the lower trapezius, the rotator cuff and the brachioradialis.
  • Redeem offer codes right in the app, under Settings → Premium.

1.1: released October 24, 2026

  • Your whole workout on the Lock Screen without unlocking: the RPE question, rest ±15 seconds, skip set, pause and finish.
  • Heart rate chart in History: every workout with heart rate shows the chart with your sets and rests.
  • Heart rate insights in Progress (Premium): fitness at the same load, time in heart rate zones and cardiovascular load.
  • Records, redesigned: “1RM now” estimates what you can lift today, and you can log a known 1RM yourself.
  • The muscle map as a 3D model you can rotate, muscle by muscle (Premium).
  • A weekly header on the dashboard and the “Explore” card: one muscle a day, with exercises to strengthen or stretch it.
  • Favorite exercises: when you swap, favorites and familiar exercises come first.
  • Over 520 exercises with a 3D clip.
  • Large text throughout the app, better contrast and larger tap targets.
